Art Baseling: Moto Jacket + Lace Crop Top

How to wear a lace crop top with moto jacket. Pairing an elegant top with a moto jacket is always a good trick to achieve an edgier look.

If you’re an art junkie, celebrity paparazzi, cocktail aficionado or just an overall party enthusiast, Art Basel Miami is definitely for you! The fun began Tuesday night at The Design District, a neighborhood known for its high-end stores, incredible restaurants, contemporary architecture and public art installations. Almost all stores transformed into art galleries, some had delicious hors d’oeuvres and bubbly, while others had resident DJ’s playing the year’s hottest tunes.

Afterwards, the party continued in South Beach, where we were invited by Papyrus to experience the Faena Art Dome. The dome, which was built in The Faena Hotel’s backyard, was only a few feet away from the beach and it featured rotating art in the interior of its walls; making it seem like the room was actually spinning. Among the many fun activities within the dome, my favorite were the one-of-a-kind illustrations by Deanna First, a New York based illustrator and artist. She was creating beautiful drawings for attendees, and I was lucky to have mine done (see it here or below).

Now let’s talk about my outfit. I wanted to be comfy, hence why I opted for these joggers; fancy, reason for the lace; and versatile, why I opted for a moto jacket since we’ve been experiencing cooler temperatures during the night. This jacket has been a key item in my closet for years now, and the color burgundy always makes my heart skip a beat every time I wear it, especially when I pair it with leopard and black (like I did in a previous post here).

CHAQUETA COLOR VINO TINTO + BLUSA DE ENCAJE

Si eres adicto al arte, paparazzi de celebridades, aficionado de los cócteles o apenas un entusiasta de fiestas, Art Basel Miami es ¡definitivamente para ti! La diversión comenzó el martes por la noche en Miami Design District, un barrio conocido por sus tiendas de lujo, increíbles restaurantes, arquitectura contemporánea e instalaciones de arte. Casi todos los negocios se transformaron en galerías de arte, algunos sirvieron deliciosos bocadillos y champan, mientras que otros tuvieron disc jockey con las mejores canciones del año.

Después, la fiesta continúo en South Beach, donde fuimos invitados por Papyrus para ser parte del Faena Art Dome. El domo, construido en el patio del Hotel Faena Miami Beach, estaba a sólo a unos metros de la playa y brindo arte que giraba en el interior de sus paredes; haciendo parecer que estábamos girando. Entre las muchas actividades dentro de este espacio, mi favorito fue las ilustraciones hechas al momento por Deanna First, ilustradora y artista basada  en Nueva York. Ella estaba creando hermosos dibujos para los que asistieron, y tuve la suerte que me hiciera uno (pueden encontrarlo aquí o a continuación).

Ahora hablemos de mi outfit. Quería estar cómoda, por eso opté por estos pantalones ajustados en los tobillos; elegante, motivo para el encaje; y versátil, razón por la que opté por esta chaqueta ya que las temperaturas en la noche bajan un poco. Esta chaqueta ha sido una pieza clave en mi guardarropa desde hace años, y su color vino tinto no falla de enamorarme cada vez que la uso, sobre todo cuando la combino con leopardo y negro (como hice en un post anterior aquí).
