Happy February!

Kicking off a new month sharing one of my favorite rooms in the Jorge household; Mila’s nursery. This project was another major labor of love (just as Julian’s nursery was) and I am completely obsessed with how it turned out.

Comenzando un nuevo mes compartiendo uno de los lugares favoritos en casa; la habitación de la pequeña Mila. Este proyecto fue un gran trabajo de amor (al igual que fue la habitación de Julián) y estoy completamente obsesionada con cómo resultó.

Let’s rewind to a few months ago when this room was our office. I was about 8 months pregnant when we finally decided to dismantle the room and get it Mila-ready. Per usual, for any home decor update, I checked the trusty internet (read Pinterest) for ideas. I came across these beautiful wallpapered nurseries that I feel in love with, but adding this feature to the walls was just too pricey. After a bit more digging, I came across these floral decals that were just as good as wallpaper but more versatile. Why versatile? because you can create any pattern you’d like since they are individual pieces. And can also be removed at will and not damage the walls. Total #winwin in my book!

Retrocedamos a hace unos meses cuando esta habitación era nuestra oficina. Tenía unos 8 meses de embarazo cuando finalmente decidimos desmantelar todo y prepararla para Mila. Como de costumbre, para cualquier decoración del hogar, busqué ideas en Pinterest. Encontré muchas habitaciones con hermosas paredes empapeladas y me enamoré, pero agregar esta característica a las paredes era demasiado caro. Después de buscar un poco más, me encontré con estas calcomanías florales que eran tan bellas como el papel tapiz pero más versátiles. ¿Por qué versátil? porque puedes crear cualquier patrón que quieras ya que son piezas individuales. Y también se pueden quitar sin dañar las paredes.

After I decided on this main feature of her room, I began ordering the furniture. I swapped the dresser’s original  drawer knobs for these and legs for these (which we gold-dipped to match the crib’s). were  was and after many trips and online orders from Amazon, Homegoods, Marshalls, Target and TJMaxx, we finally finished it in time before her arrival.

Después de decidirme en esta característica principal de su habitación, comencé a ordenar los muebles. Cambié las perillas originales de la cómoda por estas y las patas por estas (que pintamos en color oro para que coincidan con las de la cuna). y después de muchos viajes y pedidos en línea en Amazon, Homegoods, Marshalls, Target y TJMaxx, finalmente lo terminamos a tiempo antes de su llegada.
